    Square Chapel is a Grade ll* listed building. We operate as a "Centre for the Arts" with our activities being both Artistic and Educational. Our activities are charged for but often at a very subsidised rate. We receive grants in addition to the income which we generate ourselves.

Objectives

TO PRESERVE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PEOPLE OF HALIFAX IN THE COUNTY OF WEST YORKSHIRE AND OF THE NATION AT LARGE THE SQUARE CHAPEL IN HALIFAX AFORESAID AND WHATEVER OF THE ENGLISH HISTORICAL ARCHITECTURAL AND CONSTRUCTIONAL HERITAGE MAY EXIST IN THE COUNTY OF YORKSHIRE IN THE FORM OF BUILDINGS (INCLUDING ANY BUILDING AS DEFINED IN SECTION 290(1) OF THE TOWN AND COUNTY PLANNING ACT 1971) OF PARTICULAR BEAUTY OR HISTORICAL ARCHITECTURAL OR CONSTRUCTIONAL INTEREST AND THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION BY THE PROMOTION AND PRESENTATION OF THE PERFORMING ARTS IN WEST YORKSHIRE AND IN PARTICULAR AT SQUARE CHAPEL (SEE CLAUSE 3 OF THE MEMORANDUM OF ASSOCIATION).
