SALFORD LADS' AND GIRLS' CLUB

The building has been in continuous use since 1903 & operates sports & arts clubs for local young people & the community. It has a Lads Club, Girls Club & a mixed younger age club. Volunteer led with part time staff & currently supported by grants from Comic Relief, BBC Children in Need, Zochonis Trust & Booths Charities. The Lads Club organise an annual camping holiday which has ran since 1904.

The building is now still in use 7 days per week by young people, the community and visitors. They run a junior club, a girls club, and the original lads club, with part time workers and young mentors. It offers much needed youth provision in the area for 200 young people a week and also acts as a community hub for different activities in an area facing many aspects of deprivation. The grant will pay towards the organisation’s overheads and the costs of their core staff team to enable them to develop their services further.
