Growing care farming is one of three projects within the Children and Nature Programme. This project is looking to support a transformational increase in the scale and scope of care farm services, so that by 2023 there are 1.3 million care farming places being made available for clients in England. (This equates to a significant increase from the current level of delivery of about 8,000 places per week, to around 32,500 places available each week.) This project also aims to match this increase in capacity with an increase in demand for delivery of care farming services from the referral organisations and networks across the health, social care and educational sectors. It is also expected to lead to an increase in the scope of care farming services, ensuring that the range of services offered can meet the needs of referral organisations and their clients identified during the project.
