This development proposal poses a unique partnership opportunity owing to the proximity of a densely populated ward experiencing high levels of deprivation and a wide range of large cultural and educational institutions brought together for this project. Partners will work in collaboration with residents to create a range of waste reduction activities at the heart of the community in the Chalton Street Market in Somers Town Camden. Activities will draw on local lived experience as well as academic expertise to explore solutions in two key areas of fashion and tech which leave behind a legacy of behaviour change in reducing waste sustainable opportunities for repair and reuse and lasting connection and collaboration between partners and residents.
