FOREST OF DEAN CHILDREN'S OPPORTUNITY CENTRE

The Forest of Dean Children's Opportunity Centre has been running since 1982 and provides support to families who have a child aged 0-7 years with or without a special need/disability, as well as providing therapy groups for the children themselves. The services we provide include; home visiting support, therapy and parenting groups, multi-sensory room, holiday play schemes, and a minibus service.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government
  • The Board appears to be dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Over half the Board have joined recently

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • Spending is declining
  • Income has been volatile and on several occasions in recent years less than spending
Established: 42 years
