    Objectives

    THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO (“OBJECTS”) ARE PRINCIPALLY, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY WITHIN CHELMSFORD AND SURROUNDING DISTRICTS IN THE COUNTY OF ESSEX (HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS THE “AREA OF BENEFIT”). THE OBJECTS SHALL BE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AND ARE SPECIFICALLY RESTRICTED TO THE FOLLOWING: -(1) THE PROMOTION OF SOCIAL INCLUSION BY WORKING WITH ADULTS IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT WHO ARE EXPERIENCING SOCIAL EXCLUSION OR ISOLATION DUE TO ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING FACTORS: MENTAL OR PHYSICAL ILL HEALTH; LEARNING DISABILITIES; IN RECOVERY FOR DRUG OR ALCOHOL ADDICTION; IN RECOVERY FROM A MAJOR LIFE TRAUMA; OLD AGE, IN ORDER TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF SUCH PEOPLE AND ASSIST THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY THROUGH THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:1. ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN A SUPPORTED WORK ENVIRONMENT IN GROUPS OF MIXED ABILITY AND BACKGROUND.2.ADDITIONAL SUPPORT TO ENABLE A PROGRESSION INTO WORK, EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR BENEFICIAL ACTIVITY AS THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT FROM TIME TO TIME.(2) TO PROMOTE HEALTH BY ASSISTING IN THE TREATMENT AND CARE OF PERSONS WITH MENTAL OR PHYSICAL ILLNESS, LEARNING DIFFICULTIES AND/OR IN RECOVERY FROM ADDICTION OR IN NEED OF REHABILITATION BY THE PROVISION OF A SAFE, STRUCTURED, THERAPEUTIC WORK ENVIRONMENT FROM WHICH TO BUILD THEIR INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND WORKPLACE SKILLS SO AS THEY MAY RETURN TO WORK OR IMPROVE THEIR WELL-BEING AND QUALITY OF LIFE.(3) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF DISADVANTAGED ADULTS (SEE OBJECT 1) IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT BY PROVIDING AFFORDABLE STRUCTURED OR ACCREDITED TRAINING IN THE RESTORATION OF FURNITURE AND OTHER HOUSEHOLD ITEMS AND BY PROMOTING THE USE OF ARTS AND CRAFTS AS A THERAPY.(4)THE ADVANCEMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND PRESERVATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES THROUGH WASTE REDUCTION BY THE PROVISION OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR PEOPLE IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT IN THE RESTORATION/REPAIR/UPCYCLING OF DONATED ITEMS OF FURNITURE AND OTHER HOUSEHOLD ITEMS.
