The funding will go towards various activities for different members of the community. From exercise classes for the people over 50 to community events for bonfire night and Christmas. The project aims to improve physical and mental health and well-being, sense of community and will see collaboration with other local groups.

We would like to create a much-needed play area with play equipment for children who live in the Longbarn area.

1. Longbarn Residents' Association exists to advance the benefit of residents by associating together with the statutory authorities, voluntary & other organisations in a common effort to promote good health & wellbeing, advance education & provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation & leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for our people. 2. Our 4-part bid (2 parts build on existing CCF funding, for Seated Exercise Classes & Afternoon Teas) aims to enhance the physical & mental wellbeing of our older residents (commonly aged 60+ at present; we seek to extend the age range to 50+). 3. Funding will be used to pay for the continuation of our Seated Exercise Classes & Afternoon Teas; & add dancing (Tea Dances, Line Dancing) & Mindfulness/Memory Classes to our portfolio. 4. For folk who've lost a step or 2 in their later years; or battling the effects of chronic pain or disability; or struggling to come to terms with memory loss: our exercise & memory programme will help improve mindfulness, mobility & balance, & get more folk out of their homes (& hopefully help people who may presently feel isolated & on their own).
