The organisation has been supporting asylum seekers and refugee's sanctuary since that time and works primarily in Derby as well as delivering services in Derbyshire and the Afghan Resettlement programme of work in Lincolnshire. The organisation was founded in response to the needs of refugees arriving in the UK. On an annual basis the organisation supports more than 600 refugees/asylum seekers from 35 countries.

Objectives

3.1 TO RELIEVE THE CHARITABLE NEEDS OF MIGRANTS, REFUGEES AND ASYLUM SEEKERS IN PARTICULAR THOSE COMING TO THE UNITED KINGDOM, BY THE PROVISION OF ADVICE, SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE AND ORGANISING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES AND SUCH OTHER ACTIVITIES AS THE TRUSTEES DEEM FIT AS A MEANS OF:A) ADVANCING THEIR EDUCATION AND TRAINING;B) RELIEVING THEM FROM FINANCIAL HARDSHIP AND UNEMPLOYMENT; ANDC) ADVANCING THEM IN LIFE AND ASSISTING THEM WITH THE ADAPTION WITHIN A NEW COMMUNITY.3.2 TO PROMOTE RACIAL HARMONY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY:A) PROMOTING ACTIVITIES TO FOSTER UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN PEOPLE FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS; ANDB) ADVANCING EDUCATION AND RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT DIFFERENT RACIAL GROUPS, INCLUDING THE ISSUES FACED BY MIGRANTS, REFUGEES AND ASYLUM SEEKERS TO PROMOTE GOOD RELATIONS BETWEEN PERSONS OF DIFFERENT RACIAL GROUPS.
