We have historically run biodiversity, education and wellbeing projects alongside our organic farm and woodland management but they are not fully integrated. Meanwhile we need to improve our wildlife/habitat data and increase practical help to deliver habitat enhancements to safeguard our 500-acre site for biodiversity. We will use this opportunity to re-set our operations, integrating people of all ages and abilities at the heart of our work for biodiversity alongside our organic estate, to achieve better outcomes for wellbeing, environmental awareness/understanding and nature. We will move us away from our model of disparate working and instead, train, equip and support an army of volunteers, Social Prescribing referrals, students/children and trainees to manage and develop our woodland, meadow, hedgerows, orchard, ponds and streams into the future. The result will be a truly connected system of informed habitat management for wider wellbeing, great environmental awareness, turning Bore Place into a training hub for the next generation of land managers and a national demonstrator of working at a landscape scale for both people and nature.
