They will purchase a minibus that will assist them to deliver hot meals and food parcels during the crisis but will also enable them to provide transport for those with mobility issues and other social needs to attend community activities after the social distancing measures are lifted. This two-year project employed a community development worker to support residents living in Twyn to develop and run a programme of weekly activities. The community worker engaged with residents to develop a stronger network of peer support and skill sharing, particularly for older people living in the area. Activities included a weekly coffee morning, book club, bingo and events planning group. Based at the Twyn Community Centre in Merthyr Tydfil, residents were part of all aspects of designing, delivering and sustaining these activities.

This two-year project supported young people living in Twyn to develop and run a programme of weekly activities. A community worker engaged with young people in the area and supported them to carry out community conversations that informed the design and development of the project. The aim was to develop a stronger network of peer support and skill sharing amongst local young people. Activities included arts and crafts, music and sports sessions. Based at the Twyn Community Centre in Merthyr Tydfil, took part in all aspects of designing, delivering and sustaining the activities with a youth panel to review and evaluate progress on a regular basis throughout the two years.
