THE GREEN BACKYARD

The Green Backyard is a vibrant community growing project open to everyone. We are passionate about health and sustainability, and work to raise awareness of environmental issues by involving the community in informative, practical demonstrations and workshops. We work with many different individuals and groups from across Peterborough and beyond.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • This charity has been very successful in attracting volunteers relative to its size
  • The charity has received backing from a grant maker
  • The Board appears to be dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy
  • This charity does not have a Conflict of Interests policy
  • Over half the Board have joined recently

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • Spending has fallen significantly over the last 5 years relative to the previous period
  • Income has been volatile and on several occasions in recent years less than spending
