The funding will enable the organisation to use music as a tool to bring communities together to tackle a range of social issues in Sandwell (including high unemployment rates poor mental health and lack of job opportunities for young people in the area). The Gateway programme gives people work-based and cultural experiences with supported journeys and tailored back-to-work advice.Through recent growth and public awareness of their work TPO have found themselves under increasing demand from unemployed local people asking for help and support with specific requests to provide support around the administration marketing and technical work placements currently offered. TPO's volunteer and work placement programme has assisted over 1400 unemployed people into work providing valuable skills and training to many embarking on careers within and beyond the creative industries.
