Building on their existing networks and relationships with places of worship and faith leaders, Faiths Forum will work across religious and educational centres, including Black-led churches, mosques, gurdwaras, a Jewish seminary and Black and minority ethnic university societies. Through a network of trained ‘Community Champions’ at each of these sites, Faiths Forum will implement bespoke engagement events, regular information stalls and support sessions, and faith, culture, and language specific videos, posters and infographics.

The fund has been set up to support community projects which reduce knife crime and have a positive impact on young people at risk of carrying a knife and committing crime. Bids have been assessed on the extent to which they provide value for money and demonstrate, based on their understanding of knife crime in the local area, that they will achieve at least one of the following key aims:? Prevent young people from becoming involved in carrying a knife? Respond to knife crime in our communities? Improve support for knife crime offenders and offer an effective exit strategy? Increase reporting of knife carrying? Help young people to deal with conflict without resorting to violence? Support the siblings of young people involved in or at risk of involvement in knife violence? Build our understanding of the drivers behind knife crime? Build our understanding of how to prevent young people from carrying knives
