The funding will be used by Savana Stoke-on-Trent's only registered sexual violence charity to continue supporting its work in North Staffordshire. This will enable the charity to safeguard the core functions underpinning its sexual violence / abuse counselling (delivered in both group and individual contexts) and Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) advocacy support services. These benefit around 1800 beneficiaries each year. The charity will also develop two new strands of work focusing on inclusion and school-based early action projects around perpetrators / harmful sexual behaviours based on an increasing demand for this locally. The inclusion focus ensures that the charity is able to make good on its local positioning and relationships to present itself as approachably and accessibly as possible to survivors of all genders and those from BAME LGBTQ and refugee communities in the area.
