It's Your Choice' runs support services for young people aged 12-25 years old who live in the New Forest. It has a base in Totton, but reaches young people in villages and rural areas by operating outreach hubs across the Forest. It offers what it calls an 'open door' for young people in need; this includes a counselling service, a drop-in for young people who are homeless, support for young people in debt, and work around drug and alcohol misuse. Every year it supports hundreds of young people who find themselves in crisis, needing free and impartial help. The grant will contribute to two staff roles who will help to fundraise for these vital services, through community fundraising, social media and links with grant-making trusts.

It’s Your Choice will work with six partner organisations for this project providing counselling services for young people aged 18-25 with emotional or mental health concerns across Hampshire. Group and one to one counselling will be delivered in accessible locations in a youth focused environment at times that suit the young people. Every young person referred to the service will be assessed to check counselling is the most appropriate course of action and if need be will be referred to other services.

Four new outreach venues will be developed to offer young people a place where they can access information, guidance and practical support in dealing with their emotional, sexual and behavioural issues. Practical support will also be given to encourage and enable young people to take up educational, employment and volunteering opportunities.
