SUFFOLK PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

Employing the finest professional musicians, we make great music accessible to people who might not otherwise hear it because of rural isolation, being less mobile, feeling unsure about entering a concert hall, or finding tickets too expensive. Community Concerts, with lunch or tea and transport all free, are welcomed in their own right, and also serve as a taster for our full orchestral concerts.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • The charity has received modest backing from several prominent grant makers recently
  • There has been strong growth in spending over the last 5 years
  • The Board appears to be dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • One or more trustees receive payments or benefits from the charity for providing services to the charity
  • The Board is predominantly male

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • On several occasions in recent years income has been less than spending
Established: 12 years
