The wider aim of the scheme is: We are the national development agency for creativity and culture. By 2030 we want England to be a country in which the creativity of each of us is valued and given the chance to flourish and where everyone of us has access to a remarkable range of high quality cultural experiences. Between 2018 and 2022, we will invest £1.45 billion of public money from government and an estimated £860 million from the National Lottery to help deliver this vision.

NoteAble Girls will deliver the follow outcomes, all of which interact with, and recinforce each other: 1. Strengthen young peoples confidence enabling young people to express themselves artistically, on their own terms, through producing their own music and performing it to others, gives a huge confidence boost. Young people see their ideas and skills develop resulting in something totally original, and having this celebrated by others gives a further confidence boost. This confidence then spills out into other areas, eg feeling able to put themselves and their ideas forward and further develop their skills 2. Inspire self belief if young people feeling like they have something to offer it has a knock-on effect on them feeling more positive about achieving ambitions around education, personal development and social aspirations, eg identifying goals and feeling motivated about achieving them; feeling optimistic about tje future. This outcome also relates to self esteem and resilience, such as ability to deal with life challenges, eg I feel able to cope when things go wrong or not to plan. 3. Increase positive social connection social isolation is a huge issue for the young women who come to our sessions. Working creatively with others lends itself to building social connections which spill over beyond the project sessions, eg new friendships and wider engagement with creative activities and cultural organisations which make them feel like they belong to a group of like minded people and the community. 4. Enhance emotional wellbeing Almost all of Soft Touchs work looks to deliver this outcome as achieving positive mental health is a huge challenge for young people who are also vulnerable in other areas of their life. Theres loads of evidence to show that being creative is of itself a great way to boost emotional wellbeing.
