Age Cymru Gwynedd a Mon will employ a community liaison officer for 12 months who will work with the community and partner organisations to develop relevant programmes of activity to support the health and wellbeing of people aged 50+. Bydd Age Cymru Gwynedd a Môn yn cyflogi swyddog cyswllt cymunedol am 12 mis a fydd yn gweithio gyda'r gymuned a mudiadau partner i ddatblygu rhaglenni gweithgaredd perthnasol i gefnogi iechyd a lles pobl 50+ oed.

The grant will enable Age Cymru Gwynedd & Môn to continue supporting people that are aged over 50 with information and advice that will alleviate the negative impacts that the cost-of-living crisis is having on them. They will be supported to access allowances pension credits and schemes that will help reduce household energy costs. The grant will also support the organisation’s utility costs helping to sustain the range of services they offer to maintain the wellbeing of the community. Bydd y grant yn galluogi Age Cymru Gwynedd a Môn i barhau i gefnogi pobl sydd dros 50 mlwydd oed gyda gwybodaeth a chyngor a fydd yn lliniaru'r effeithiau negyddol mae'r argyfwng costau byw yn eu cael arnyn nhw. Byddant yn cael eu cefnogi i gyrchu lwfansau credydau pensiwn a chynlluniau a fydd yn helpu lleihau costau ynni tai. Age Cymru Gwynedd a Môn will provide continued support to the older and vulnerable community as they are shielding from COVID-19 and into the future when restrictions are eased. The project will provide a community support service that will provide essentials and regular hot meals a telephone ‘keep in touch service’ and advice and information on challenges individuals are faced with. It will contribute to the well-being of the community as loneliness and isolation are elevated due to COVID-19. £81500 over 12 months will fund staffing. Bydd Age Cymru Gwynedd a Môn yn darparu cefnogaeth barhaus i'r gymuned hn a bregus wrth iddynt gysgodi rhag COVID-19 ac i'r dyfodol pan fydd cyfyngiadau'n cael eu lleddfu. Bydd y prosiect yn darparu gwasanaeth cymorth cymunedol a fydd yn darparu hanfodion a phrydau poeth rheolaidd ‘gwasanaeth cadw mewn cysylltiad’ a chyngor a gwybodaeth am yr heriau y mae unigolion yn eu hwynebu. Bydd yn cyfrannu at les y gymuned wrth i unigrwydd ac arwahanrwydd gael ei ddyrchafu oherwydd COVID-19. Bydd £81500 dros 12 mis yn ariannu staffio.

Data shows that income levels in Gwynedd and Anglesey are especially low with almost 40% of households in Gwynedd in poverty compared with 28% in the UK. Age Cymru Gwynedd a Mon is experienced in supporting vulnerable older people with their finances.The project will enable them to offer a specialist debt service for the first time, meeting high levels of demand. This will form a package of holistic support from a user-led organisation experienced in responding flexibly and sensitively the needs of older people.

This North West Wales charity will deliver a bi-lingual advocacy service across Gwynedd and Ynys Mon supporting older people to continue to live independently.

This one year project will create a dedicated minibus transport service providing transport links for club members to attend lunch clubs and day centres in Arfon, Dwyfor and Meirionnydd, whilst encouraging new members to attend and also enabling the organisation to take club members on shopping outings and occasional visits. A minibus based in Nefyn will also be available for older people's community groups when not in use providing volunteering opportunities and possible driving employment opportunities.

The project will bridge the gap between older people, community activities and the existing 'Ageing Well' centres. The applicant will utilise volunteer befrienders who will visit older people who are referred to the project by partner organisations. Following a period of one-to-one support it is anticipated that the older person will have developed the confidence to take part in community activities or attend the 'Ageing Well' centres.

The project will help older people across Gwynedd and Ynys Mon to access advice, benefits and advocacy.
