This two-year project expands on existing provision and delivers recreational activities for people aged 50+ from the local African community, including refugees and asylum seekers, living in Manchester. Weekly Saturday sessions held at the Crossley Community centre in Gorton, offer activities including, physical activity, community gatherings, socialising with music, singing, dance and art and a Cultural forum for intergenerational debates to exchange skills, experience and knowledge with others. There are also outreach, advocacy and support to enable participants to access services and employment. Participants come together to tackle isolation and solitude, including as a result of language barriers, and have a say in the planning and delivery of the project through evaluation sessions and a steering group.

The programme included recreational activities such as dance and storytelling, social events, a Cultural Forum and advocacy support.
