This two-year project creates weekly social activities and lunches for people with disabilities, living in Bournemouth. The project offers a safe and supportive environment in which participants can come together for social interaction and develop confidence, self-esteem and independent living skills as well as improving mental and physical health. Sessions include activities that are determined by participants such as tai chi, yoga and arts and crafts. Each session ends with a shared meal and gives participants the chance to develop friendships and peer support and in an informal setting. Participants shape ongoing delivery through regular feedback sessions.
