Home-Start supports local families who are going through tough times including bereavement, parent /child disability, feeling isolated and poor mental health. They offer a unique home-visiting service whereby trained volunteers provide emotional and practical support to families 2-3 hours a week for, 6-9 months. Funding will support ten families with multiple challenges negatively affected by lockdown, both through weekly phone calls and visits.

It will include tailored support from trained volunteers who will visit families in their homes for several hours a week, using their skills and cultural experience to increase understanding and improve confidence among the most isolated. Methods will include one-to-one, group and peer support, parenting courses and assistance to access mainstream services.
