Our Theory of Change outlines the way that the shorter term outcomes are followed by the medium term outcomes, which allow women in the houses to be impacted in the longer term. For the shorter term: Improved confidence Improved motivation Improved resilience Improved understanding of budgeting Improved understanding of benefits Increased understanding of substance misuse and consequences, Increased skills to avoid substance misuse Increased understanding of the support available to those at risk of substance misuse, Improved ability to run a home, Improved understanding of job prospects. In the medium term: decreased likelihood of mis-using substances mid term improved personal well-being, Impact Increased ability to be free from substance misuse long term, and Reduced re-offending. Each of these feed into improved health and well-being. Some like confidence, motivation and resilience are obviously linked to mental health. Others like job prospects or an ability to run a home are closely tied because those without jobs or the skills to run a home can feel overwhelmed, anxious and generally suffer from poor mental health.
