The girls have been identified from a pilot project of refugee and asylum seekers who have had a very traumatic start to their young lives, coming from a war torn country moving to a new community and cultures. Integrating girls and young women with others will enable them to build a new network of friends which will have a positive impact on their health and wellbeing .Young carers need time and space to focus on themselves, valuable time out and quality time with their peers especially girls. Often young carers need a lot of nurturing, somebody to listen to them and have an understanding ear. Girls with disabilities will have the same opportunities as those without with similar issues and ages. The residential will focus on representatives from each group to allow specific topics and issues to be worked through giving the girls a safe space to talk and make decisions. All venues will be low cost to enable to budget to go further. Decisions made will shape how the sessions are run and inclusive for all for the best outcomes. Girls will feel supported, listened to and empowered to help those in need enabling them to take ownership of the project and shape the service they receive. Girls will research what resources and information is available to support them with their issues and questions and ask for advice and even samples to help others who face disadvantages or lack the knowledge or skills Having the confidence to speak out will enable them to become more independent, assertive and motivated to make changes for their future. Presenting views to other people will expand the opportunities to give them the confidence to take their ideas forward.
