The wider aim of the scheme is: We are the national development agency for creativity and culture. We have set out our strategic vision in Lets Create that by 2030 we want England to be a country in which the creativity of each of us is valued and given the chance to flourish and where everyone of us has access to a remarkable range of high quality cultural experiences. We invest public money from Government and The National Lottery to help support the sector and to deliver this vision.

The project impacts at following levels: Individual level The project empowers and builds confidence among women through learning, exchange of experiences, sharing and taking part, thus empowering them to take charge of their wellbeing. Community level The project is targeted at BME, refugee and local women in Sunderland's inner areas with the aim to increase participation among them for example, participation in the north east is lower among BME groups (68%) compared to adults from the White groups (78.2%). This project promotes diversity and an inclusive experience for all involved, thus enhancing social inclusion in Sunderland. The involvement of BME and excluded womens groups in the development of the project would allow increased participation. The participatory sessions are a tool to invite new membership and draw women together to share stories and make friends. This shared experience would in turn enrich and strengthen the wider communities. Organisational level Sangini has a strong history of working in partnership with other organisations. This project creates as well as strengthens both new and existing partnerships in Sunderland. The employment of a part time worker would build Sangini's capacity to sustain and deliver services to local women. Outcomes: a. Sustained relationships and building of new ones with the women, in particular with BME women where participation and civic engagement is very low b. Women feel less stressed, isolated and more supported, thus alleviating their mental health issue and depression c. Increased confidence, self-expression and self-esteem among women by learning new skills and having a greater sense of identity and being heard d. Links and peer support networks are forged to promote social cohesion and understanding between different ethnic groups
