£3,500	14/11/2019	Bollington Initiative Trust (BIT) helps to preserve Bollington?s unique environment and heritage, for the benefit of our local community through the acquisition and management of land and buildings ....more Bollington Initiative Trust (BIT) helps to preserve Bollington?s unique environment and heritage, for the benefit of our local community through the acquisition and management of land and buildings which may otherwise be lost. BIT manage the Water Street community building ? a former secondary school in the centre of Bollington and in the conservation area. Whilst the space now hosts a pre-school and some community groups, the first floor of the building is in a poor state of repair and needs to be altered to meet additional local needs and demand. BIT is seeking £9,000 towards the creation of a ?family hub? at the Water Street Centre, to support children and their extended families in Bollington. The funds will be used to replace and relocate the boiler. This is a key enabler for the wider project. The aims of the overall project uinclude: -To provide access to inclusive, quality and affordable childcare services to enable people to take part in community activities and personal development -To reduce isolation of local families and child carers through accessible events and activities -To provide space for people to meet, make friends, share experiences and form support networks across all generations.
