SYLVIA LANKA FOUNDATION

Our goal is to transform the lives of those living in poverty. We provide grants, shelter and sponsorship for the education of children. During COVID-19 as medical facilities have struggled to cope we are sending unused, decommissioned equipment and medical supplies from the UK to hospitals throughout Sri Lanka. Our aim is to assist, especially children, regardless of ethnicity and religion.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • There has been strong growth in spending over the last 5 years

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • Accounts have been filed late on 3 occasions over the last 5 years and the current period appears to have been extended
  • On several occasions in recent years income has been less than spending
