Over two years Swansea Carers Centre will use £99985 for staff and running costs to expand a new carers COVID-19 Recovery Volunteering project across Swansea. They will offer opportunities to join groups and take part in befriending to reduce isolation offer access to respite and peer support. The project will improve wellbeing and the ability to cope by creating opportunities for carers to take a break. It will also encourage more volunteers to take an active part supporting carers in their community.

The Swansea Carers Centre will use £79229 funding to set up an out-of-hours helpline and counselling project. The project will provide an extra 20 hours a week of direct personalised one-to-one virtual/online support for carers. Carers are experiencing a much higher level of mental health issues including stress anxiety and depression as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This grant will help provide additional support for carers reduce their isolation and increase their friendship networks. Bydd Canolfan Gofalwyr Abertawe yn defnyddio grant o £79229 i sefydlu llinell gymorth a phrosiect cwnsela y tu allan i oriau. Bydd y prosiect yn darparu 20 awr ychwanegol yr wythnos o gymorth rhithiol/ar-lein personol un i un i ofalwyr. Mae gofalwyr yn profi lefel llawer uwch o faterion iechyd meddwl gan gynnwys straen pryder ac iselder ysbryd o ganlyniad uniongyrchol i'r pandemig COVID-19.
