The funding will support core costs for the Basement Project which supports young people at risk of becoming homeless or who are homeless or in crisis in Worcestershire through various support services. This support enables young people to move beyond survival mode to meet their aspirations; to live responsibly and where possible to live independently; to overcome challenges; to increase their confidence self-reliance; and to contribute to their communities.

The funding will be used to support vulnerable young people aged 25 and under who are homeless at risk of homelessness or are in crisis. Additionally young mums and domestic abuse victims will also be identified and supported. The project aims to provide a drop in service and floating support in Worcestershire with the ultimate aim of supporting young people to find a home and keep it live independently and be able to think about the future.

The funding will be used as a contribution to find a part-time support worker for 9 months to support young people up to the age of 25 who are homeless at risk of homelessness or are in crisis through a drop service and floating support in Worcestershire. The project aims to offer a range of holistic support to the targeted cohort to help them reach their potential and prevent their situations spiraling into further decline.

The Basement Projects provides drop-in support and outreach services to homeless young people in North Worcestershire. Funding will enable hard to reach, vulnerable homeless young people from a semi-rural setting, to gain accommodation, maintain their tenancies and move towards increased stability and independent living. It achieves this by advocating on behalf of and empowering young people on a 1:1 basis to access a range of welfare and benefits support; moving them into accommodation, providing basic essentials for living, personal development and life skills workshops; advice, information and support to enable young people to take up education, training and employment opportunities.
