There are some people, predominantly from BAME backgrounds have huge misconception about Covid vaccine and its possible side effects. There are also lots of ‘myths and hymns’ about the coronavirus. These are causing some people to believe that Coronavirus and vaccine rollout is a part of ‘Conspiracy Theory’. We are an umbrella organisation of the BAME communities and work directly with these groups such as African-Caribbean, Black African, Bangladeshi, Chinese, Indian, Italian, Middle-Eastern, Pakistani, Polish etc. We will be closely working with these groups to increase the awareness about the benefits of vaccine and at the same time explaining the risks involves when infected by Covid-19. Our work will involve the following tasks: 1. We will create a ‘Vaccine Community Support Group’ having representations from all ethnic communities. Community Champions will be invited to join this group who will work with their specific communities to raise vaccine awareness and promote vaccine take up. 2.We will run various workshops of leisure and pleasure activities where health officials will be invited to talk about the vaccine and answer questions about ‘myths and hymns’. Workshop will include healthy cookery sessions, Cake Baking sessions, Dance Workshop, Singing and Comedy Show. 3.We will visit various community venues such as Church, Mosques, Temples, Community Centres to run awareness sessions. 4. We will be running befriending services through the members of our Vaccine Community Support Group’ to have consultations with those people who have turned down vaccine offer on a one-to-one basis. 5. We will provide transport support to those who don’t have any access to a vehicle for visiting the vaccine centre. 6. We will introduce a ‘Reward Scheme’ for those who take vaccine. This will be given in a form of Supermarket Vouchers.
