The grant would pay a contribution towards the Cancer Support Coordinator who will recruit, train and supervise peer volunteers who facilitate support groups (phone or video call support according to Covid restrictions); Coordinator also takes on the more complex cases. The project will monitor wellbeing measures and will record a majority of improvements in mental wellbeing eg reduced loneliness, reduced anxiety and increased happiness.

The grant will enable the service to be expanded to the surrounding villages of Staplehurst, Hawkensbury and Headcorn.
