The purpose of the funding is to provide support to a vitally important sector doing excellent work with children and adults who are victims and survivors of child sexual abuse. Funding will be awarded to non-statutory sector organisations working nationally to provide services that help victims and survivors cope with and, as far as possible, recover from the impact of child sexual abuse. By supporting these services this funding will contribute to improved health and wellbeing outcomes for victims and survivors, improved criminal justice outcomes (by supporting victims through the criminal justice process) and cost savings for other public services (e.g mental health, drug and alcohol services) by addressing the trauma caused by childhood sexual abuse.

The grant will provide additional capacity for them to support alongside Gwent Police while attending emergency call outs and for the crisis support workers to support referrals. The project will be expanding the organisation's current provision and providing services to men, women, children and young people that have experienced sexual exploitation and/or sexual violence. The project consists of three elements of specialist sexual violence support, sexual exploitation support, and participation. All three elements will be delivered using a trauma-informed, empowering approach that will build resilience, self-efficacy, and self-esteem. The project will benefit 520 individuals._x000D_
What Money is for :_x000D_
The grant, over a four year period, will fund four full time posts, an intake and assessment officer, outreach support worker, sexual exploitation advice and support service (SEASS) team leader, and SEASS support worker. As well as project delivery costs, training, travel and expenses, marketing, overheads and evaluation costs.
