The funding will help create ‘London's Young Platinum Green Champions’ which will support young people aged 11 to 25 to access green spaces and nature. The young people will celebrate their access to green spaces through multi-media programmes workshops and summer action volunteering opportunities. It will focus on those who live in Hackney Islington Tower Hamlets and Lewisham who currently experience a lack of access to open green spaces. The project will raise awareness of open and natural spaces and the benefit it brings to wellbeing helping to improve young people’s mental health after it has been negatively impacted by the pandemic and lockdowns.
