Since 1992 Turning Tides has provided support for the homeless and those insecurely housed across West Sussex with the aim of empowering our clients to achieve sustainable independent living. Funding is to enable them to purchase food and other essential items so that they can continue to support clients in their residential accommodation (currently 197 residents) and through their outreach services (currently 245 clients) over the next 12 weeks.

This project in Worthing provides crisis intervention and advice, signposting to appropriate services, temporary accommodation and eventually permanent housing to adults experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Up to 30 people a day currently access the services. Other services include food, laundry and shower facilities, health services (needle exchange, sexual health and primary health) and specialist advice through four workers providing signposting services.
