MEDECINS SANS FRONTIERES (UK)

Overview

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has a longstanding presence in Ukraine, including in regions of eastern Ukraine that have been affected by armed conflict since 2014. A large part of their work from 2014 to 2021 was responding to the needs of patients with HIV, tuberculosis, or other chronic illnesses. When the war escalated in 2022, MSF was in contact with Ukrainian hospitals that were receiving trauma patients wounded in the fighting. Many hospitals also faced shortages of supplies, mainly for emergencies, trauma care, and surgery so international deliveries of MSF supplies are being provided, and experienced MSF emergency and specialist medical staff are in Ukraine with more continuing to arrive and support the MSF teams already working within the country.
