HAVENS HOSPICES

The Charity provides relief to children and adults suffering from any chronic or life limiting illness, via the provision of residential hospice care, day care, education, training and support for patients and their families (or other carers), provided both within the organisation and in the community. Our care is provided free of charge to people regardless of faith.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • This charity has a robust balance sheet
  • Income generation is well diversified
  • There have been no material income shortfalls in recent years
  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government
  • The Board appears to be well diversified in terms of age and gender and dynamic in terms of composition

Financial issues to consider:

  • Liquidity appeared to be considerably in excess of CC guidelines at the latest year end especially considering the historic stability of income
  • Fundraising costs are extremely high relative to funds raised
Established: 31 years
