This two-year project delivers a weekly social club for people with learning disabilities living in supported living or on their own in Basildon and Thurrock, Essex. The project aims to support people with learning disabilities to create links in the wider community. With support from staff, the project is run by the participants, which will help them to gain confidence and new skills to access more mainstream facilities. A facilitated participant planning committee shapes the project.

The Can Do Project gives people with learning disabilities, including those who have severe physical impairments and mental health issues, the opportunity to participate in a range of socially inclusive activities to help them lead a life that is productive, healthier, active and driven by personal choices.
