The work will directly meet the objective of improving the health and well being of our clients as well as build confidence and increase and improve connections to social networks for women. An additionality it will bring is that women will be able to access 1:1 counselling in 11 languages that is linguistically and culturally appropriate. The two core outcomes will be: 1. Women who have experienced gender-based violence become more psychologically healthy. 2. Women who have experienced violence or abuse are more resilient, better able to avoid future harm and therefore have better chances in life. This project will make the following differences to the women who take part: A significant measurable mental health improvement in 65% of our clients according to the CORE outcomes measure; An increased number of women will show a significant improvement in their ability to express their feelings or problems leading to a reduction in stress and anxiety An improvement in subjective well-being leading to an increase social functioning An improvement in their coping strategies Clients will have improved day to day functioning and self-esteem enabling them to gain control of their lives Reduce mental health inequalities as 100% of our clients are on benefits level income and 52% are BAMER. Clients will demonstrate a reduced likelihood of remaining in or re-entering an abusive relationship Clients will show a significant improvement in their well-being and ability to verbalise and deal with their traumatic experiences. This will make them feel less isolated, improve their day to day functioning, self-esteem and a reduction in risk taking. As a result of their improved mental health and better life chances, this work will also indirectly benefit clients children and families.
