This measure encourages and promotes a range of cooperative activity which encourages farmers, forest holders, private businesses and public bodies, or participants in supply chains to work together to take forward priorities for investment and overcome disadvantages of fragmentation. The measure develops priorities in environment, climate change and biodiversity; supporting farmers and foresters to improve supply chains or develop short supply chains; develop initiatives to tackle animal health and welfare issues; as well as cooperation between public bodies and private businesses to develop the rural economy. Local co-operation in tourism activities are supported that improve the attractiveness of the overall destination, help develop the supply chain in the visitor economy and encourage collaborative activity or pilot projects developing agri-food hubs or clusters in particular geographic areas. Lancashire Wildlife Trust’s Myplace team will build on a previous project by the Carbon Landscape Team (“Woodland wellbeing” which was aimed at over 50s) and take a wellbeing service to Warrington, especially Latchford and young people via three local schools. The grant funding will be used to pay for staff time for in person meets, zoom sessions and materials to pilot a potential larger project with Assura PLC. Latchford faces many challenges and this project will allow intergeneration members of the community to come together to connect with the ecotherapy and wellbeing aspects of nature.

The project aims to deliver Eco Therapy and Green Care activities such as nature based art, walks, talks and mindfulness to older people in Warrington. Building on the back of successful work in this area, this project will help inspire and reach older people from deprived areas and help them to connect with green spaces reducing anxiety, improving their mental and physical wellbeing and promoting social inclusion.
