This project will provide opportunities for Physical Activity (particularly cycling and BMX) for cancer patients and carers. The focus sport will be cycling and the project will begin with taster sessions, allowing participants to experience BMX, Track, and Road and paracycling cycling. For those not wanting to take part in cycling opportunities, 10 pin bowling and water sports will also be offered. Funding will support transport costs, staffing costs, coaching fees and equipment purchases. The project is seeking to benefit 85 participants.

This two-year project delivers a physical and virtual community hub which provides groups, activities and emotional support sessions for cancer patients and their families across the London Borough of Hackney. Within comfortable surroundings at the hub, which is open all day on Sundays, weekday evenings and additional times during holidays, attendees can relax and get to know others in similar situations. They benefit from peer support groups, advice and information sessions and workshops such as arts and crafts and attend a hairdressing salon for wig styling. Participants are able to influence project delivery in a range of ways including feedback at sessions, a suggestions box or via joining the steering group which will meet monthly.
