We expect the Totally Girls project to have the following impact: - Through co-designing and leading the Totally Girls sessions and volunteering at local events, the young people will develop confidence as they take responsibility and voice their ideas and concepts. Volunteering opportunities will also enable the girls to grow in confidence, as well as learn new skills such as: managing money, team work, building positive relationships, health and safety, project planning and public speaking as they deliver presentations. - The Totally Girls workshops will enable the young people to learn about the importance of healthy lifestyles; regular sleep patterns, healthy eating, health relationships and the health impact of substance misuse. The workshops will also cover issues around mental health; young people from our successful Empathy Cafe project in Paignton will connect with the girls to help them learn about the triggers which lead to poor mental health and develop strategies that can help build emotional resilience i.e. mindfulness, regular sleep and a healthy diet. - The Totally Girls sessions will offer a space for girls to meet safely and learn about the issues affecting them. The girls will be facilitated to share lived experiences and build support for one another through the activities and workshops. Through volunteering together and team work, the girls will bond and increase their social networks safely and appropriately. Workshops around online safety will enable the girls to use social media positively and reduce the risk of inappropriate relationships forming.
