Our mission is to help anyone whose life is affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS), including those diagnosed, their carers, family and friends within Cheshire East & High Peak. Our purpose is to offer a variety of activities, emotional support, social interaction, grants, counselling and information to local families. The group is governed by a small team of dedicated and talented volunteers with senior management experience in finance, sales, marketing, health and social care. The team all have personal experience of living with this debilitating disease and understand its effects on the physical and mental/ QoL of our members. If we take the group holiday as an example of our previous work. This year we helped over 50 people living with MS to take a break in a fully accessible hotel. We thought it fitting to include some of the feedback received from the people attending the holiday as this shows perfectly the impact the holiday has on the people attending. "got a lot out of it, everyone so supportive, I've come home feeling refreshed", "the holiday gave me the space and time out I really needed, thanks so much" "I felt lost and alone and thought my life was over, the holiday and support I received has given me hope for my future" "I am not in a wheelchair but struggle with hidden symptoms, I didn't have to explain myself to anyone as I was understood. It meant the world to me. If I was fatigued, I went to bed. Thank you" "my partner and carer were at breaking point, my MS has taken over. The holiday and the people have helped us to see that we can talk to others and reach out, we aren't alone anymore"
