Using £297814 over three years New Pathways Family Friendly Therapeutic Centre of Excellence will support more people who have been victims of rape and sexual violence across South and Mid Wales. They will continue to improve their wellbeing service reducing the demand on their counselling services. Each year the project will support at least 500 survivors of recent and historic rape and sexual abuse to recover and up to 1250 partners families and friends will benefit indirectly.

The project will build on the applicants' successful Lottery funded project SURE for Mental Health. It will continue to deliver its core work of teaching basic mental health to people to identify and support both themselves and others with mental health issues, and its suicide intervention and support training. The new elements will include a youth version of SURE tailored to suit their needs, the development of a mental health toolkit and mental health support groups run by and for people with experience of mental health issues.

The project will provide counselling to children and young people who have suffered from any kind of trauma, with the organisation increasing its current counselling provision in volume and in geographic locations. New services to be delivered as part of the project will include specialist advocacy and support, group therapy sessions, safety awareness talks at schools, themed workshops and use the mobile therapy unit to provide services and information in rural areas and at public events.
