The funding will provide older people with befriending mentoring and bereavement support plus additional social activities to help those struggling with isolation and anxiety.THB supports those aged 55 plus with or without disabilities providing the following:• Weekly lunch club• Music to Movement classes• Grumpy Old Men’s club• Games group and craft clubs• Trips to garden centres and the coast in its minibus• Community transport: using volunteer drivers and its Wheelchair Access Vehicle (WAV) taking service users to social activities and medical appointments• Home Support: cleaning and general housekeeping support so people can stay in their own homes• Gardening and Handyman: lawn mowing and garden tidying and other small jobs • Befriending: this service began just prior to lockdown and pivoted to a phone service but has begun to face-to-face again• Opening as a warm space from end November 2022 to be promoted through a market stall social media and posters council and community noticeboards.
