The project will ....more UNICEF is proposing to deliver ‘Levelling the Playing Field’, a project aiming to use physical education to improve the lives of 57,500 disadvantaged children aged 6-14 in India. The project will introduce a programme of quality physical education (PE) and life skills to 350 targeted schools in the states of Assam and Bihar where almost 60% of children drop out of school before leaving primary school. The programme will be delivered by 550 teachers, with the aim of reducing drop-out rates and improving life-skills. A grant will be used to fund the training of 105 master-trainers and school teachers, undertaking monitoring visits, and the production of course materials.
