They do this by collecting unwanted but re-useable furniture and household goods, selling them at a heavily discounted rate, to people on low incomes in Hastings and Rother. Funding was provided to help re-establish their volunteer project which trains unemployed people in various aspects of the retail trade.

HFS tutors have developed therapeutic outreach activities that boost confidence by teaching practical DIY and craft skills for vulnerable adults at domestic violence refuges, mental health centres and communities both in towns and rural areas.
